Tax was the last thing on my mind when I joined
I started my career at Inland Revenue as an investigator in Tauranga. Tax was the last thing on my mind when I joined. I enjoy strategising, so the role appealed to me and it just happened to be with Inland Revenue.
Now I lead an Investigations team. Having worked here, I can't imagine having another job that would give me the same level of satisfaction or opportunities that I get at Inland Revenue. Knowing that my work contributes directly to funding health care, policing, infrastructure development, schools - things which have a significant effect on both services and facilities available to New Zealanders - is rewarding.
The support of the organisation has also played a big part in my career satisfaction. One of the best things about working here is how well you're looked after.
