What our people say
David, Research & Development tax credit
Building a high performing team is important to me and a satisfying part of my job
As a manager I see one of my key roles is building a high performing team. It's important to make time available to mentor and guide people just as much as making strategic decisions about the direction of the business; I'm lucky in that I get the opportunity to do both in my role.
I graduated with an accounting and law degree and thought that working with Inland Revenue initially would provide me a foundation in tax and perhaps more work prospects. I've been fortunate with the opportunities I've had while working in Inland Revenue to be involved in some very interesting, challenging and even cutting edge work.
One of the best things about working for Inland Revenue is the high calibre people that I deal with on a daily basis, both internally and externally. In the past people might have thought "Who'd want to work for the tax department?" but now it's seen as a great career choice, and an organisation that attracts the best people.
