Inland Revenue website wins People's Choice award
7 April 2006

Inland Revenue's website has won the best government or community website in this year's NetGuide People's Choice web awards.

The NetGuide awards are New Zealand's premiere prizes for excellence on the web and this year were voted for entirely by users, with more than 30,000 people participating.

"Inland Revenue has a strong commitment to making it easy for customer to get the services and information they need," said Colin MacDonald, Inland Revenue's Deputy Commissioner (Business Development and Systems).

"More and more people are choosing the internet as their preferred way of doing business, so this recognition is very important for us."

The government or community category is defined as being the best, most helpful site providing information and services pertaining to matters of government, local government, government agencies or a community organisation site.

Inland Revenue's latest win follows its number one Government site ranking in this year's Hitwise awards (which measure the number of visits websites get from users) and last year's NetGuide awards where the site was a finalist in the Government or community website category.
