When to use this calculator

Note: From 1 April 2007 the annual holiday entitlement increased to a minimum of four weeks or 8% of gross income. For more information see the Holidays Act 2003.

Before you use this calculator, you will need to work out the gross amount payable to your employee for holiday pay. When completing your calculation, include holiday pay as earnings in the period that you actually pay them.

For information about holiday pay, see the Department of Labour's booklet, "Holidays and leave - an employer's guide". To get a copy, call the Department of Labour's Employment Relations Infoline on 0800 209 020 or go to the Department of Labour's website

Please note that this calculator is only used for calculating "pay periods". The PAYE calculator is used to work out your monthly / twice monthly employer tax credit requirements.
