Definition

Your main source of income comes from the job that pays you the most. If you have two jobs that pay the same amount, you may choose which one is your main source of income.

Example

Anne has a job earning $1,164 a fortnight ($30,264 a year) and has a student loan. She starts a second job, earning $268 a week ($13,936 a year).

Her total annual income is $44,200.

Anne is completing a Tax code declaration (IR 330) for her second job. As her total annual income is between $40,001 and $70,000 she would select the SH SL tax code.
