About this service

This service allows you to pay child support or make student loan repayments by debit or credit card.

When to use this service

Using a debit or credit card is one way to pay child support or make student loan repayments. This is only available online - you cannot pay by debit or credit card over the counter or by phone. From 1 July 2008, people who use a debit or credit card to make a student loan or child support payment will no longer incur a 2.49% bank convenience fee.

What you will need
  • Your IRD number - if you don't have your IRD number contact us on 0800 377 778 (for student loan holders) or 0800 221 221 (for child support enquiries).
  • Your debit or credit card details.
After you finish

The date we use to determine payment to your Inland Revenue account is the date your debit or credit card was authorised for payment by your card issuer.

This service may require you to send confidential information to Inland Revenue so it is located on a secure part of our website to prevent unauthorised interception. If you are unable to access this service, your browser and/or firewall settings may need updating.
