Client maintenance
(To use this service you need to be registered for the Look at Account Information service.)
About this service
This service allows you to add a client to your tax agent/agency client list or remove a client from your tax agent/agency client list.
When to use this service
- Use this service to add a client to your tax agent/agency client list or add an additional tax type for an existing linked client.
- Use this service to remove a client from your tax agent/agency client list or remove a specific tax type for an existing linked client.
What you will need
To use this service you need a user ID and password. To get a user ID and password you need to register for an Online Services account.
If you have not yet registered for Online Services and you are a tax agent, please contact your Agent Account Manager.
Once registered for Online Services, you also need to be registered to use the Look at Account Information service.
If you have registered and applied for the Look at Account Information service but have not applied for the Client Maintenance service, please use the "Login" link above, login to Online Services then select "Apply for other services". After applying for the Client Maintenance service you will need to log out of Online Services. The next time you login to Online Services, the Client Maintenance service will be available for you to use.
Before you can Link a client you must hold signed approval from your client authorising you or your agency to discuss specific tax matters with us. We cannot display details about tax types or activities for a client unless they have authorised you or your agency for that tax type or activity.
Before you Delink a client or a tax type please confirm with your client the address to which they want us to send correspondence.
After you finish
When you have linked a client you will be able to view the tax types you are linked for online immediately.
When you delink a client you will no longer be able to view their tax types online.
This service may require you to send confidential information to Inland Revenue so it is located on a secure part of our website to prevent unauthorised interception. If you are unable to access this service, your browser and/or firewall settings may need updating.
