About this service

Use this service to deregister a portfolio investment entity (PIE).

When to use this service

Ceasing to be a PIE may occur at any time. You can cease being a PIE if:

  • a permanent breach of the PIE eligibility rules has occurred
  • the PIE is winding up
  • the PIE is opting out or de-registering
  • a portfolio investor proxy changes to become a full PIE, or
  • the entity registered in error.
What you will need

The PIE's IRD number - you will find this on any correspondence from us, or call us on 0800 377 774.

After you finish

If you wish to keep a copy for your own records, please print the confirmation page or save it as a PDF document.

This service may require you to send confidential information to Inland Revenue so it is located on a secure part of our website to prevent unauthorised interception. If you are unable to access this service, your browser and/or firewall settings may need updating.
