Tax agents - order a personal tax summary

About this service

Use this service to request a personal tax summary for your client.

When to use this service

Find out whether you'll automatically be sent a personal tax summary for your client or whether you must request one for them.

If you request a personal tax summary and it works out to be a tax bill, your client will have to pay that bill.

If you don't need to request a personal tax summary for your client, you can check whether they've paid the correct amount of tax by using our personal tax summary calculation. If this works out to be a refund, you'll need to request a personal tax summary for your client to get their refund.

What you will need
  • your agency IRD number
  • your client's name and IRD number
  • any interest, dividend or taxable Maori authority distribution details
  • whether your client is entitled to one of the low income rebates
  • details of any expenses your client can claim.
After you finish

The personal tax summary should arrive within 45 working days. If you requested a personal tax summary for a tax year which is not yet completed it will arrive by late July.

The personal tax summary will show if your client has a refund, tax to pay or if they've paid the correct amount of tax.
