This guide provides information on parental tax credit and paid parental leave. You may be eligible for one of these entitlements if you're having a baby or adopting a child (under the age of six).

When to use this guide
You cannot receive both parental tax credit and paid parental leave for the same child. If you're entitled to both payments, use this guide to help work out which payment may be the better one for your situation.
This guide also includes information on how to apply for paid parental leave or parental tax credit and who to contact for more information about either payment.
