Financial transfers
To use this service you need to be registered for the Look at Account Information service.
About this service
This service allows you to request whole payment and credit transfers from clients on your tax agent/agency client list to other tax types, periods or customers.
When to use this service
Use this service to request the transfer of:
- all or part of a credit balance for a specific period. You can transfer the credit balance to another period, tax type or IRD number
- a whole payment amount. You can transfer a payment to another period, tax type or IRD number.
What you will need
To use this service you need a user ID and password. To get a user ID and password you need to register for an online services account.
If you have not yet registered for online services and you are a tax agent, please contact your Agent Account Manager.
Once registered for online services, you also need to be registered to use the Look at Account Information service.
Before you perform financial transfers for a client you must hold signed approval from your client authorising you or your agency to discuss specific tax matters with us. We cannot display details about tax types or activities for a client unless they have authorised you or your agency for that tax type or activity.
After you finish
Once the whole payment or credit has been transferred you can see the transfer transactions for clients you are linked to using Look at Account Information (LAAI) service immediately.
This service may require you to send confidential information to Inland Revenue so it is located on a secure part of our website to prevent unauthorised interception. If you are unable to access this service, your browser and/or firewall settings may need updating.
