In this video, we’ll show you a preview of some great new features in the ‘Business’ section of myIR for tax agents. We’re continuing to make improvements based on customer feedback until it goes live in April, so please note some things may change.

When you login to myIR, you will see a new tab called ‘Business’ – this replaces the ‘GST’ tab.

This is the new Business section of myIR. Here you’ll see the tax accounts for the customers you have access to. As well as GST you’ll also be able to see and file Fringe Benefit Tax and Gaming Machine Duty.

Also, the ‘Alerts’ section of the business tab will provide a reminder of any actions related to accounts that you need to complete.

We’ve removed the activity centre tab. You’ll find these functions, and more, in the new tabs we’ve added.

The settings tool, here, is where you can view and manage your profile, manage additional logons for your agency and view a summary or your online activities.

Back on the business home page you’ll notice that the ‘My Accounts / Client Accounts’ toggle button has been removed. The clients in your workspace will instead show under the ‘Customers’ tab at the IRD number level and ‘Accounts’ tab at the tax type level. All customers added to your workspace will be displayed here in both lists. If you’ve been given access to your agencies own accounts, they will appear here also. You can search for an account using the search tool, using name or IRD number.

The tax preparer tab is a new place for you to manage your client lists, run reports, transfer credits and file bulk GST returns. What you’ll see in here will depend on your myIR role. We’re producing some videos about the Tax Preparer tab which will show you more, so look out for these.

The submitted tab shows all your saved draft returns, submitted returns and a list of all activities you’ve done online – including processed returns and links to new clients.

The correspondence tab is where you can see messages and documents for all the accounts you have access to.

Here you can keep track of important documents that we send you and contact us by sending us a message.
