This graph shows the payments amount made to scheme providers by the following categories:

  • employee deductions
  • employer contributions
  • kick start
  • voluntary contributions
  • interest paid by Inland Revenue
  • member tax credit.

In November 2019:

  • $564.9 million has been paid to scheme providers, up from $506.3 million in November 2018.
  • $358.8 million represents employee deductions, up from $321.5 million in November 2018.
  • $200.5 million represents employer contributions, up from $181 million in November 2018.
  • $4.8 million represents voluntary contributions, up from $2.5 million in November 2018.
  • $0.5 million represents IR interest paid, the same as November 2018.
  • $0.2 million represents member tax credit, down from $0.9 million in November 2018.

This graph shows the total amount of employee deductions, employer contributions, voluntary contributions, Government contributions, kick starts and interest paid by Inland Revenue to scheme providers during each financial year since KiwiSaver was introduced.

By the end of the 2019 financial year:

  • $ 6,681 million has been paid to scheme providers, up from $ 2,648 million in June 2010.
  • $ 3,672 million represents employee deductions, up from $ 1,051 million in June 2010.
  • $ 2,157 million represents employer contributions, up from $ 626 million in June 2010.
  • $ 43 million represents voluntary contributions, up from $ 9 million in June 2010.
  • $ 6 million represents IR interest paid, down from $ 5 million in June 2010.
  • $ 803 million represents member tax credit, up from $ 573 million in June 2010.

In November 2019:

  • $564.1 million member and employer contributions were paid to scheme providers, up from $505 million in November2018.
  • $0.8 million Crown contributions were paid to scheme providers, down from $1.4 million in November 2018.

  • $ 5,872 million member and employer contributions was paid to scheme providers, up from $ 1,686 million in the 2010 financial year.
  • $ 809 million Crown contributions was paid to scheme providers, down from $ 962 million in the 2010 financial year.
