A PSP may seek a partial exemption or full exemption from providing us with merchant data and information.
The exemption will be granted if we determine the information is better collected from another PSP.
How to apply for an exemption
To apply for an exemption, please complete the IR262 form and send to [email protected]
As we need to validate the data, processing times will vary based on each PSP’s application. We will send you written confirmation with the outcome of your application.
Full vs partial exemption
Full exemption
This is where an entity meets the definition of a PSP, but:
- another payment service provider, or providers processes the payments for the merchant(s), and
- those PSPs hold the same information as, or more information than the entity applying for the exemption, and this covers all the transactions that the entity would have otherwise been required to provide.
Partial exemption
This is where an entity meets the definition of a PSP, but:
- another Payment Service Provider, or providers, processes the payments for the merchant(s), and
- those PSPs hold the same information as, or more information than the entity applying for the exemption; and this covers only a portion of the transactions that the entity is required to provide.
Exemption condition
If, at any time, circumstances or situations that the exemption is based on change, you must notify us as soon as practical.
We may also revoke the exemption at any time if we believe that you no longer, or never did, meet the requirements that the exemption was based on.
