How to give a current person additional access to your myIR

In this video, you’ll learn how to give someone first party access to your My business account in myIR.

First party access means you set someone up to log in to your myIR account. You can choose this option if you have someone who works for you or acts on your behalf to help with your tax affairs.

Transition to myIR home screen, pointer selects ‘My Business’ tab.

To give an existing logon first party access to your My business account(s) you need to log in to myIR and go to the My business section.

Transition to myIR home screen - once logged in, pointer selects ‘Settings’ tab, which transitions to ‘Logon Settings’ page, pointer selects ‘manage additional logons’ under the ‘I want to…’ tab. Transitions to ‘Manage additional logons’ page, pointer selects the person to provide additional access to. Transitions to ‘Logon’ page, pointer selects ‘manage access’ under the ‘I want to…’ tab.

Audio:

Select ‘Settings’ then ‘Manage additional logons’ to grant access to your account(s). Select the person that you would like to provide access to and then select ‘Manage access’ under the ‘I want to…’ section.

Transition to ‘Add or remove accounts’ page. Pointer selects the ‘Administrator’ link, transition to the ‘Small business Limited’ information page where pointer selects ‘Change’ under ‘Settings tab’. Page expands and pointers clicks dropdown menu for ‘Access role’ under ‘Setting’ tab. Pointer selects ‘Administrator’ under the ’Settings’ tab. Video fades into new screen with an explanation of the Administrators role. Pointer then moves to select ‘Grant Access’ under the ‘Accounts’ tab. A pop up window appears and pointer selects ‘Make payments’ then ‘File’… from the account menu dropdown. Point then clicks ‘Ok’. Pop up window disappears.

Audio:

Here you can choose what access role they should have and which account(s) you’d like them to have access to.
If you would like to change the access role at any point, select the current role and select ‘Change’. You can choose administrator, user or restricted user. An explanation of what each of these roles can do is displayed when you select a role in the dropdown box.
Click on ’Grant access’ and change the access from the ‘Account Permission’ dropdown. You can select periods that the logon has access to if required. Then click ‘OK’.


Visual:

Pointer moves across screen to select ‘Grant access’. Point then scrolls down and selects ‘Save’.

Audio:

If you no longer want someone to have access to your account, simply click on ‘Cancel access’. Once you’re finished changing permissions, remember to click ‘Save’.
