How to make a payment through myIR while filing a return

In this video, you’ll find out how to make a payment through myIR Secure Online Services. We’re continuing to make improvements based on customer feedback so please note some things may change.

You can choose to make a one-off direct debit payment from your bank account when you’re filing a return.


Visual:

To make a one-off direct debit payment, select ‘Yes’. To pay by credit card or debit card select ‘no’.

Pointer selects ‘Bank Account’. Pop up circle highlights ‘Bank’ Pointer then goes to ‘Select payment date’ under the ‘Payment details’ title. Pop up circle highlights ‘calendar icon’. Calendar shows and pointer clicks on date.

Audio:

Enter the bank account you want to make the one-off direct debit payment from. Select the date you want the payment to be debited from your account - this date can be in the future.


Visual:

Pointer selects ‘Yes’ under sub title ‘Save these bank account details for future use’. ‘Cheque’ is entered into the ‘Create label for this bank account’. Pointer selects ‘Payment confirmation’ box, pop up circle highlights the box. Pointer selects ‘Submit’, pop up circle highlights the ‘Submit’ button.

Audio:

Remember, you can save your bank account details for future use. Confirm the amount to pay is correct and tick the declaration box, then choose ‘Submit’.

A ‘Direct debit confirmation’ box pops up. Pointer selects ‘OK’, pop up circle highlight ‘OK’ button.

Audio:

You will see a pop-up box, this will ask your permission to authorise the one-off direct debit amount from the selected bank account. If you agree, choose ‘Ok’.

Transition to ‘Confirmation’ page.

Audio:

It can take up to 1-3 working days for your payment to show in your bank account. But don’t worry, payments made on or before the due date won’t incur a late payment penalty. Please note, your bank may charge you a one-off direct debit set-up fee.
