Some customers applying for the Small Business Cashflow (Loan) Scheme (SBCS) online are getting the error message 'the New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) provided cannot be verified' when they enter their NZBN. This error appears even when the number is correct, preventing customers from submitting their application.
This happens when a customer uses their personal IRD number and their business NZBN. The NZBN you enter is checked against the IRD number you are applying under and if these do not match, you will get an error.
To avoid this issue, if you are using your business NZBN you will need to complete the application using your business IRD number.
