If a due date falls on a weekend or a public holiday, a payment will be in time when it is received at a Westpac branch or an Inland Revenue bank account on or before the next working day.

For provincial anniversary days:

  • only customers located in the province that is celebrating its anniversary and who usually make payments over-the-counter at Westpac, will have their payment treated as being received in time if received on or before the next working day.
  • customers who make payments electronically, will still need to pay on or before the actual due date as the banking system will still be operating.
