This is a reminder that we are updating our tax and social policy system this weekend.
myIR, gateway services and our phone services including self-service options will not be available from 5pm Friday 25 October 2024 through to 8am Tuesday 29 October 2024.
Return filing
You can file early any returns that are due on or over the temporary closure. We know this shutdown period includes the 28 October GST due date. Because 28 October falls on a public holiday, this due date is automatically shifted to the next business day, 29 October.
Drafts in myIR
As part of our update, we will not delete saved drafts in myIR. Saved drafts will be available as normal after the shutdown.
Payments
Working for Families payments will be paid on the usual day. The payment dates remain Tuesday 29th or Wednesday 30th October.
Some key changes in myIR
- You will now be able to view letters in your current screen, instead of a separate pop-up window.
- You will be able to unsubscribe from some email notifications from the new ‘Manage my email subscription preferences’ menu. Not all emails can be unsubscribed from such as payment due notifications.
- Web attachments smaller than 1kb will now show the byte size when added to your web messages.
- You will now see what addresses are on file for each product and the information about the requirements to update a client’s default address.
- You can choose to use a new authentication process (fingerprint, face ID or your device’s screenlock pin or pattern) to login to your myIR account.
