In March 2020 we suspended issuing automatic requests to employers to make extra deductions for employees with debt as part of our response to COVID-19.

We’ve recently restarted sending the automatic deduction requests to employers. We send letters to customers to advise them of the debt and their repayment options before we send an automatic deduction notice to an employer. We’ve re-added the warning message to advise customers we may ask their employer to make deductions from their income to collect debt.
