COVID-19 Alert Level 1 If you've been affected by COVID-19, we may be able to help. Find out more

We're aware of issues with how Dividend Withholding Tax (DWT) deductions are being displayed in myIR. In some places the Resident Withholding Tax (RWT) and imputation credits have been combined as well as the imputation credits showing separately (thereby over-inflating the deductions).

There is also an issue with splitting the DWT when the dividend income is joint income – the gross dividend is correct, but the RWT and the imputation credits are not splitting correctly.

These issues are also affecting printouts from myIR and the Income API and income tax return pre-pop in gateway services.

The correct information is being pre-populated into returns filed in myIR.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we’re working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We will let you know once it’s been fixed.

In the meantime, if you are filing returns for clients with dividend income through myIR or gateway services, please check to ensure that the DWT deductions in the return are correct and amend these if required.
