Eligible businesses can apply for the resurgence support payment now, with the last day for applications being on 22 March 2021.

Tax agents can apply for the RSP on behalf of their clients if they have the authority to apply and hold a record of that authority.

Tax agents must have the customer master link and/or be linked for Income tax and have either a recorded phone message, a signed form, or an email that gives them the authority mentioned in the declaration.

If appropriate authority is held, myIR owners, administrators, restricted administrators, and users can apply for RSP on behalf of a client from the tax preparer tab.

There are some clients who who may not qualify for RSP – and tax agents will see a message saying the customer is not eligible, for example the business is ceased.
