Working for families payments 22nd June 2021 Your working for families payment may be in your bank account later than usual today. You will still receive your payment by the end of the day.

End of tax year We’re sending income tax assessments out from late-May until the end of July. If you have a tax bill you may be eligible for an automatic write off. Find out more

If your client received the wage subsidy directly from Work and Income (without tax deducted), we’ll now add the amount received (less any repayments) to their Individual tax return – IR3 or Non-resident individual tax return – IR3NR when you file it in myIR. Please note: for software users, the wage subsidy details are now available in Gateway Services but will only pre-populate if your provider has updated their software to make this information available to you.

We are still working on making this change to the onscreen income profile in myIR. We will update you when this has been done. From 17 May 2021 we have also been showing the wage subsidy on any Summary of earnings we issue.

The wage subsidy amount will show under ‘Government Subsidies’.

If the amount is not correct you can change it on the return.

If your client received the wage subsidy (without tax deducted) and it is not showing on their return, you’ll need to add it when you complete the return..
