Every year on 6 February, New Zealand marks the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. Waitangi Day is a public holiday, which is being observed on Monday 8 February this year.
Our contact centres and offices will be closed on Saturday 6 February and Monday 8 February in observance of Waitangi Day. You'll still be able to use our website, myIR, and our self-service number as usual.
Working for Families payments
Working for Families payments will still be paid on your usual day. Depending on your bank, the time of day you receive your payment may not be the same as Monday is a public holiday.
If you receive weekly or fortnightly payments, the payment dates will remain 9 or 10 February. You might have noticed in myIR that the processing dates are showing slightly earlier than usual. This does not change the payment date.
