Working for Families and paid parental leave payments will be paid early due to the public holiday. This means there will be:

  • no Working for Families payments from Friday 31 December 2021/Saturday 1 January 2022 to Tuesday 11 January 2022
  • no paid parental leave payments from Friday 31 December 2021/Saturday 1 January 2022 to Tuesday 18 January 2022/Wednesday 19 January 2022.

Working for Families payments

If you normally receive a weekly or fortnightly Working for Families payment on Tuesday 28 December or Wednesday 29 December, it will be paid early. You will receive payment on Friday 24 December or Saturday 25 December, depending on when your bank processes your payments.

For those receiving weekly payments, this means you’ll be paid twice in the week before Christmas.

The next weekly Working for Families payment will also be made early. The payment that you’d normally receive Tuesday 4 January or Wednesday 5 January will be paid on Friday 31 December or Saturday 1 January 2022, depending on when your bank processes your payments.

Note: The next scheduled weekly and fortnightly Working for Families payments will be made as normal on Tuesday 11 January 2022. No payments will be made the week of 3 January. If you have any automatic payments set up with your bank, please check they won’t be affected by the one-off payment change. Also make sure any regular payments you make will not be affected.

Paid parental leave payments

If you normally receive your paid parental leave payment on Tuesday 4 January or Wednesday 5 January, this will be paid early on Friday 31 December or Saturday 1 January 2022, depending on when your bank processes your payments.

Note: The next scheduled paid parental leave payment will resume as normal on Tuesday 18 January or Wednesday 19 January. If you have any automatic payments set up with your bank, please check they won’t be affected by the one-off payment change. Also make sure any regular payments you make will not be affected.

You might see in myIR that the processing dates are showing as different to the dates we’ve outlined above. However, this does not change the payment dates.

Reminder: Depending on your bank, the time of day you receive your payment may not be the same.

If you need to get in touch with us, send us a message in your myIR account. Please be aware that we will not be able to respond to any messages sent to us in myIR over the holiday period until after we return on Wednesday 5 January 2022 (we aim to respond within 15 working days from this date).
