Calculate tax on holiday pay - 2008

Description
About this calculator

This calculator is only for pay periods ending between 1 April 2007 and 31 March 2008 (inclusive). This calculator works out how much PAYE to deduct from an employee's holiday pay.

Use of this tool does not result in data being submitted to us.

When to use this calculator

Note: From 1 April 2007 the annual holiday entitlement increased to a minimum of four weeks or 8% of gross income.  For more information see the Holidays Act 2003.

Use this calculator to work out how much tax to deduct from an employee's holiday pay, their KiwiSaver contributions (if they are a KiwiSaver member) and student loan repayments (if required).

Before you use this calculator, you will need to work the gross amount payable to your employee for holiday pay. When completing your calculation, include holiday pay as earnings in the period that you actually pay them.

For help calculating an employee's holiday pay, see the Department of Labour's booklet, "An employer's guide to holidays and leave". For a copy of the booklet or further information about holiday pay, visit the Department of Labour website, or phone the Department of Labour's Employment Relations Infoline on 0800 800 803.
