Child support

Child support estimating your income IR151

(published September 2007)

Description
About this guide

Information on how, if you are a paying parent, you can estimate your income.

Adobe Acrobat PDF | 80kb | 3 pages

When to use this guide

You can estimate your income if you expect to earn at least 15% less than the income we've used to work out your child support (or your taxable income if we've used the maximum income amount).

What you will need

You need to either write a letter or complete our Estimate of income for child support assessment (IR104) form.

We need to receive this before the end of the child support year for which it applies.

 You need to include:

  •  your estimate of how much you expect to earn for the whole child support year (1 April to 31 March)
  •  evidence to support your estimation - for example, pay slips or, if you're self-employed, a letter from your accountant.
