Redundancy and working for families tax credits

When you're made redundant

It's important to tell us if you are made redundant as your entitlement to working for families tax credits (WFFTC) is likely to change. We can then ensure you are claiming your full allowance and won't end up with a debt to pay back at the end of the tax year.

Working for families tax credits are made:

  • by regular payments during the year, or
  • in a lump sum at the end of the year.
