Northland flood victims should call if having problems with tax payments

Inland Revenue today encouraged people to phone in as soon as possible if they have lost their tax records, or have other tax issues related to the recent flooding in Northland.

Some people may have difficulty meeting tax and child support obligations as a result of the severe weather at the end of last week.

Bob Russell, Deputy Commissioner Service Delivery, says Inland Revenue will approach each situation on a case-by-case basis.

We understand that tax isn't the first thing on people's minds in these situations," said Mr Russell. "But we're also aware that some taxpayers may have tax due dates coming up. If they have concerns about meeting those dates it is important that they contact us as soon as possible, before the payments are

Inland Revenue's emergency line number - 0800 473 566 - is available from 8am to 8pm and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
