Wellington Inland Revenue staff to centralise
20 September 2007
Inland Revenue has today signed a tenancy agreement confirming the department as the head tenant of the development under construction at 1 Featherston Street, Wellington.
Staff in the greater Wellington area are expected to begin to move into the building at the end of 2010.
The move will pull staff from around Wellington into one centralised location. "Wellington staff are currently spread around 11 buildings throughout the city. This move to one central location will increase teams' efficiency and support our long-term business plans", said Inland Revenue Acting Deputy Commissioner Business Development and Systems, Mary Craig.
One Featherston Development Limited Director Mark Dunajtschik said, "We are looking forward to working closely with Inland Revenue to develop a building with long-term environmental sustainability that meets Inland Revenue's business needs."
"Working in this building will contribute significantly towards our sustainability goals as we strive for carbon neutrality in 2012", said Ms Craig.
Inland Revenue will retain some of its current property portfolio in addition to 1 Featherston Street.
