Revenue is available to fund government programmes through people meeting payment obligations of their own accord

- Advise government, with The Treasury, on tax policy and social policy measures
- Collect tax, child support, student loans and KiwiSaver contributions
- Distribute payments such as tax refunds and rebates, Working for Families, child support and paid parental leave
