Business Development and Systems is responsible for the long-term development of Inland Revenue to meet new and developing customer demands.  This includes leading major development programmes.

Service Delivery is responsible for the direct delivery of services to customers. It covers the provision of information, debt and return management, audit and child support services.

Policy Advice, jointly with The Treasury, advises the Minister on all aspects of tax law and reform, and on social policy issues that interact with the tax system. It also forecasts tax revenues.

The Office of the Chief Tax Counsel identifies and applies the correct interpretation of the Inland Revenue Acts and other relevant law while considering case law. It provides oversight of technical issues and decision making in Inland Revenue.
