Statement of Intent 2008-11

Minister's foreword

Minister's foreword to the Statement of Intent.

Part one - Introduction

Inland Revenue seeks to improve the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders. We collect revenue and distribute social policy payments, which contribute to the Government's priorities of economic transformation, families-young and old, and national identity. We are also helping to achieve some of the Government's sustainability goals-especially our contribution to moving the public sector towards carbon neutrality by 2012.

Part two - Managing in a changeable environment

Our environment is continually changing. With rapidly developing technology, increasing international links and changing societal expectations, we expect the fast pace of change to continue, leading to growing demands and increasing expectations for our services. We need to be able to respond quickly and effectively.

Part three - Strategic overview

This section discusses what Inland Revenue is seeking to achieve and how it is going to go about achieving this. It discusses how we link our initiatives to our outcomes.

Each year Inland Revenue issues a Statement of Intent. Please read or download our Statement of Intent 2008-11. You can obtain the Budget information for Vote Revenue from the Treasury website.
