Fringe benefit tax on contributions to funds, insurance and superannuation schemes

Calculation sheet

About this calculator

This calculator calculates fringe benefit tax on contributions to funds, insurance and superannuation schemes - some of the information you'll need to file an FBT return online.

Use of this tool does not result in data being submitted to us.

When to use this calculator

Use this calculator to calculate the fringe benefit value of contributions on your employees' behalf to:

  • any sick, accident or death benefit fund approved by us
  • life insurance, pension insurance or personal accident or sickness insurance policy or insurance fund of a friendly society
  • any superannuation schemes where SSCWT does not apply.

Most fringe benefits in this category are not liable for GST.

If some of your contributions are GST-liable then the supplier will charge GST on your contributions. Include any such contributions in the first box of panel D in your FBT return instead. The result will generate a printable schedule for you to print and keep with your FBT records.

For best results set your printer to landscape (horizontal) format.
