About this calculator

This calculator is for pay periods ending between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013 (inclusive). The annual holiday entitlement is four weeks or 8% of the employee’s gross income. For more information see the Holidays Act 2003.

Use of this tool does not result in data being submitted to us.

When to use this calculator

Use this calculator to work out the amounts to deduct for PAYE, student loan repayments and KiwiSaver deductions, as well as any KiwiSaver employer contribution amounts and the ESCT to be deducted that you are required to pay.

You cannot use this calculator for:

  • employees with a special tax code or deduction rate
  • schedular payments (formerly withholding payments)
  • certain student loan deductions:
    •  non-standard student loan rates
    • additional deductions required by Inland Revenue
    • additional deductions requested by the borrower

What you will need

Before you use this calculator, you will need to work out the gross amount payable to your employee for holiday pay. When completing your calculation, include holiday pay as earnings in the period that you actually pay them.
