Change of circumstances checklist for child support

You should let us know straight away about any changes to your personal situation which may affect your child support.

We have put together a checklist for paying parents and custodians which lists the situation changes that we need to know about.

Checklist for paying parents

Please remember to tell us if:

  • you change your address or contact details
  • you're going overseas
  • you start to share the care of a child
  • you start working for a new employer and your child support is being deducted from your wages
  • you start or stop receiving a benefit
  • your income changes and you've estimated your income for child support
  • your living situation changes (for example, if you start living with a partner or a child stops living with you)
  • you start living with the person who is looking after the child that you pay child support for
  • any of the children that you pay child support for start living with you or start working or receiving a benefit or student allowance
  • you are going to have trouble making a payment on time.
  • any other changes which may affect your child support assessment.
