The form to complete for each property you rent out. You can complete it online if you file your IR3 return online.

When to use this form

You need to use this form to show the income you have made from rental property, minus the expenses and depreciation on buildings and assets. Fill in a separate IR3R for each property rented out.

What you will need

You will need:

  • your IRD number
  • rental property address
  • period property was available for renting
  • total rental income on this property
  • any other income
  • any gain or loss on disposal
  • expenses relating to this property
  • depreciation information for building and assets - this will include the:
    • date of purchase
    • cost
    • means of depreciation
    • adjusted tax value, and
    • rate of depreciation.
