When to use this form

Use this form to apply for an IRD number either for yourself or a child in your care when you're an offshore person.

If you need to apply for a non-resident/offshore business IRD number, use the IRD number application - non-resident/offshore non individual (IR744) form.

Non-resident GST business claimants will need to use the Application for a non-resident GST business claimant registration (IR564) form.

Before applying for an IRD number you must have a fully functional New Zealand bank account, otherwise we won't be able to issue you an IRD number.
