Registering as an employer
You will need an IRD number to register as an employer. Use your existing IRD number if you already have one.
How to register
You can either:
- use the online employer registration (go to "Get it done online"), or
- complete an Employer registration form IR334 (go to "Forms and guides") and post it to us.
Getting an IRD number if you don't already have one
You can apply using an:
- IRD number application - individual (IR595) (go to "Forms and guides") if you are an individual in business
- IRD number application - non-individual (IR596) (go to "Forms and guides") if you are a company, partnership, estate, trust, club, society, superannuation scheme or Maori authority.
