Registering as an employer
You will need an IRD number to register as an employer. Use your existing IRD number if you already have one.
How to register
You can either:
- use the online employer registration, or
- complete an Employer registration form (IR334) and post it to us.
Getting an IRD number if you don't already have one
You can apply using an:
- IRD number application - individual (IR595) if you are an individual in business
- IRD number application - non-individual (IR596) if you are a company, partnership, estate, trust, club, society, superannuation scheme or Maori authority.
