View your student loan balance online
Using Look at Account Information service
What you need to do
You can check out your current loan balance by looking up your account online. Go to "Get it done online" and use the Look at Account Information service. You need to be registered to use this service.
What you'll see
You'll be able to view up-to-date information on your student loan, including your loan balance, any repayments you've made, interest charged and written off, and any penalties you may have incurred. See "Find out more" below for further explanation of your statement and interest charges.
About registering
To use the Look at Account Information service, you need to register for an Online Services account. All you need is your IRD number and current postal address. It will take about five minutes. Once you've registered we'll send you your password and confirmation of your user ID within 7 to 10 working days.
How to get your balance over the phone
You can also find out your balance by using our automated INFOexpress service on 0800 257 777, or by calling us on 0800 377 778.
