Working with Inland Revenue
Te mahi i te taha o Te Tari Taake
Learn about services we can help you with. For other resources and services you may need on behalf of your clients, for example setting up an extension of time agreement, browse under "Forms and guides", "Get it done online", and "Work it out".
E-File

E-File is a way you can send data from your own PC system directly to the Inland Revenue mainframe. Use it to send most income tax returns, correspondence, changes to your client list or client details, and for stationery orders. You can also receive your client lists.

Instalment arrangements

To help you send us requests for an instalment arrangement quickly and easily, enhancements have been made to the current process for clients without a case manager. Case-managed clients must go through their case manager.

C-Series returns

C-Series returns are prepared by agents who use their own computer software packages to produce paper-based return details. Find out about C-Series returns and contact details for current C-Series returns software developers.

Account managers

Every tax agent has an Inland Revenue account manager. Your agent account manager can provide support and assistance, along with services such as monitoring extension of time agreements.

Tax agents' 0800 self-service line

Use our 0800 self-service line to order Inland Revenue forms and booklets and get tax payment information and updates on account balances (income tax, GST, employer accounts for PAYE, child support, ESCT, FBT and student loans). You can call us any time (except between 5am and 6am) seven days a week.

Linking and delinking clients

When you register as a tax agent, you must link your clients to your agency. When you cease to act on behalf of a client you must delink them. Find out about the benefits and how to use INFOexpress for client linking and delinking.

TAMS reports

TAMS reports allow agents to monitor their client lists and filing performance. Learn about the type of TAMS reports that are available and how to request them.
