Te mahi i te taha o Te Tari Taake
E-File

Getting started with E-File

If you are interested in using E-File, you need to have the appropriate hardware and software. You also need to know how to register.

What resources do you need to use E-File?

To use E-File, you need:

  • a computer compatible with Microsoft Windows
  • a printer
  • an Inland Revenue-approved software package
  • an Internet service provider connection.

How do you register with E-File?

If you are a tax agent and wish to use E-File, you must register with the E-File Support Team so we can send you the information you need. You can order enrolment forms by calling INFOexpress on freephone 0800 257 773, or you can download the IR798 form from "Related forms and guides".

A useful guide is our E-File information leaflet. It includes terms of reference and obligations.
