Family Liaison Officers

You can contact family liaison officers for free advice and information on any Working for Families Tax Credits, child support or student loan issues.

What our service offers

Family liaison officers will:

  • talk to and educate communities and community groups about Working for Families Tax Credits and child support.
  • talk to and educate schools and other tertiary providers about student loans
  • provide information about what Working for Families Tax Credits financial help is available from Inland Revenue
  • provide information about applying for Working for Families Tax Credits and what the criteria are
  • educate or train community groups on how to complete the Working for Families Tax Credits registration forms, and on using the online service My family details and income to view and update information.
  • provide information about child support for custodians and paying parents.

Community newsletter

Inland Revenue produces a community newsletter called Community-Wise. This is targeted at community groups and electorate offices and provides Working for Families Tax Credits, child support and student loan news.

You can get a copy of  Community-Wise by downloading an issue from the 'Newsletters and bulletins' section. You can also subscribe to automatically receive each new issue of Community-Wise.

How to contact us

If you want someone to speak to your community organisation, school, workplace, government department, youth or specialist group about Working for Families Tax Credits or student loans, call 0800 227 773 and one of our customer service representatives will send your details to the social policy liaison officer in your area and they will promptly contact you to set up a visit.
