If you are registered with us as a tax agent, phone the INFOexpress tax agent service for immediate access to a range of automated services specially designed to help tax agents with routine enquiries. INFOexpress is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. The service provides an automated response from 6 am to midnight and accepts messages from midnight to 6 am.  Please note, due to regular maintenance INFOexpress will be unavailable from 10 pm to midnight on the last day of each month.

Access to your client's information requires your tax agent IRD number, plus the regular PIN (personal identification number) allocated to your firm. Then simple messages will guide you each step of the way. Restricted information about your firm, and the ability to change or reset the Regular PIN, is maintained in a separate master account. This has its own master account PIN, which is held by a senior member of your firm. More about using PINs >

Free 0800 calling does not apply to cellular calls.

These services respond to you requests for information on returns and refunds, for personal tax summaries and summaries of earnings, and for other information and publications.

Information on client returns and refunds

You can use INFOexpress to find out:

  • whether we have received a GST or income tax return
  • the likely length of time before a GST or income tax refund is made, if you are expecting one.

Personal tax summaries and summaries of earnings

You can request:

  • a personal tax summary and/or
  • a summary of earnings for your clients.

You can also:

  • confirm your client's personal tax summary
  • update interest and dividends
  • provide tax credit (formerly rebate) information.

Other information and publications

You can use INFOexpress to request:

  • a statement of account for any tax type for which your client is linked
  • an L letter to be issued to your clients (see example)
  • a printout of your current clients
  • client linking or delinking
  • a new personal identification number (PIN), or a change to or resetting of your PINs (see more on using PINs)
  • Inland Revenue publications, such as returns, tables, guides, forms and brochures (it will help if you know the stationery number of the brochure you require).
