In this video you will learn how to give someone first party access to your GST account in myIR.


Visual:

Audio:

First party means you can set someone up to login to your myIR account with a new user ID and password. You can choose this option if have someone who works for you or acts on your behalf to help you with your GST and other tax affairs.

To give someone first party access to your GST account, you need to login to myIR. Under 'Tools', select 'Manage account access'.

Choose the tab 'Create new user'.

Audio:

Enter their contact details, a user name and choose a role. You can choose either 'User' or 'Administrator'. An administrator will have the same access as you but limited to the account you've given them. A user will only have access to account services you choose.

Here, you can choose which other non GST services you want to give a user access to. If you only want to give access to your GST account, leave the fields set to 'No access' and select continue. Once this process is completed...

Audio: Under logons you will find a list of anyone who has been given access to your GST account. Under logons without account you'll find any new users you just created but have not yet given access to your GST account. Select their user ID...

Then select the 'Access Level', for example 'File returns and make payments', and what periods to access. For example you might want them to access your GST accounts for periods starting from a specific date. Then save.

If you want to change their access level or cancel their access at any time simply go to 'Additional logons', select their user ID...
