If you cannot remember your IRD number you can use our 'Find my IRD number' tool.
If you do not have an IRD number you need to apply for one. How you apply for one depends on whether you live in New Zealand or overseas, or if you have recently arrived here.
IRD numbers contain 9 digits. If your IRD number has 8 digits, add a 0 before entering the rest of your IRD number.
