The documents you need to apply for a non-individual IRD number depends on the type of organisation you are operating. Use our decision tool to help to check what you need for your situation.
Documents not in English
You can include documents that are not in English, so long as you also give us a certified English translation of the document.
Offshore copies must be certified
Most of your documents must be certified if you’re offshore. Certified means the document has been stamped and signed by a person to be a true copy of the original. In the tool above we tell you when your documents can be just copies and when they must be certified copies.
The certifier must be approved to take statutory declarations in your home country or in New Zealand, for example a:
- lawyer
- Notary Public
- Justice of the Peace
- court official.
