To improve your experience, changes are being made for when you call the tax agents’ phone line from Monday 13 October 2025.
What’s changing?
When we cannot accept new calls on the tax agents’ line:
- you'll hear a message at the start of the call instead of going through our SPK2IR phone system
- your call will then be disconnected.
What this means for you
You’ll be informed immediately if we cannot take your call. This avoids you having to spend unnecessary time navigating SPK2IR.
These changes apply only to the tax agents’ phone line.
If you have other queries, please call the relevant 0800 numbers to ensure your call goes to the right place. For GST queries, call 0800 377 776. For Employer queries, call 0800 377 772.
When calling these other lines you will still go through SPK2IR, even if we’re not accepting new calls at that time.
