Tax on taxable income datasets

We update the statistics on tax on taxable income data annually using Inland Revenue administrative data.

How we organise the data

The Excel spreadsheet has notes with important background or technical information.

The information in the spreadsheet includes distributions of individuals’ income and distributions of individuals’ PIE income (by taxable income and by age).

There is a separate tab containing the individual income tax rates and thresholds for each year from the 2001 tax year.

Files to download

The spreadsheet has revisions to the 2021 to 2024 tax years and new data for the 2025 tax year. The data for the 2021 to 2024 tax years may not match what we have previously published. Only our most up-to-date information is available to download.
