A passkey lets you log into myIR using your face, fingerprint, or the screen lock on your device - instead of entering a username and password. It’s quick, easy, and more secure.
Why use a passkey
When you use a passkey there is no need to remember a password. It uses the security built into your device, like Face ID or your fingerprint.
If you also use two‑step verification, you will not have to enter a code when you log in with your passkey.
Log in with a passkey
Once you have added a passkey to your myIR account, the next time you log into myIR you can select ‘Log in with a passkey’.
How to add a passkey
Log into myIR in the usual way.
Go to ‘Manage my profile’ then select ‘Security’.
Select ‘Create a passkey’ twice and follow the onscreen instructions in myIR to select your passkey method and device. Then follow the instructions on your device to set it up (for example, use Face ID, fingerprint, or your PIN).
You will need to register your credential (passkey). The default credential name ‘Security Key’ will be displayed, but you can edit this to make it easier to identify (for example, ‘iphone’) then click ‘OK’.
Remove passkey
Go to ‘Manage my profile’ then select ‘Security’.
Select ‘Manage passkey’ and then the ‘X’ next to the passkey you want to remove. Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.
